PENNE PASTA WITH SAUSAGE IN CREAM SAUCE
When Dave’s daughter, Siobhan played basketball for Newtown High school there was always a traditional pasta party before each game. This was at a different player’s house each week. No offense to the other mum’s and dad’s but because of this dish, the girls wanted the party to be at Siobhan’s house every week. Made with the finest quality sweet Italian sausage, white wine, fresh cream and chopped fresh parsley.
Available as a finished dish, ready for the microwave or oven in 1 lb. containers, feeds 1-2 people, 2 lb. container, feeds 2-3 people and the quart of sausage and sauce feeds 3-4. For those who prefer to boil their own pasta (I do), the sausage and sauce is available in quart containers. Simply add sausage and sauce to your pasta of choice. For restaurant quality pasta we highly recommend De Cecco for this and all pasta dishes. Penne is the perfect accompaniment. Finish off with a sprinkling of grated parmesan cheese and freshly chopped parsley. This is a vegetarian dish that meat eaters will love too! This is a really nice change from ravioli in a tomato sauce. The lemon juice and tarragon add a wonderful flavor to the vegetable broth which is poured over the 3 cheese ravioli, red and yellow peppers, red onions and julienned carrots. $8.95 for a 1.25 lb. container, feeds 1 person. $16.95 for a 2.5 lb. container, feeds 2-3 people.
